He attended school in the evening and when he finished his studies in 1962 he was employed by Pino Ceccato (ex-rally driver who participated in many international rallies) to work in his Fiat dealership. After just a few years, Corrado was promoted to manager of the racing department, a new department with 16 employees. He was responsible for looking after racing cars, and the results were immediate, with . In 1975, in addition to working on sports cars – especially Porsches – and continuing to bring home victories, Corrado started his own business: his services drew the attention of classic and vintage car collectors, and word spread fast among enthusiasts at the various events – races, exhibitions and vintage car rallies.
Today, assisted by his son, to whom he passed down his passion and knowledge, and his qualified and reliable employees, Corrado continues to be a reference point for the restoration, reconstruction, and preparation of engines for classic cars from all eras.

Classic car collectors
In the mid-80s, Corrado Patella opened Autofficina Omega and started restoring the mechanical components of classic cars. Over the years the most prestigious cars have been seen parading through his workshop – Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Jaguar… cars fit for a museum!
Here follows a list of some of the cars that Corrado has worked on, in particular only a few Ferrari models:
- Various Ferrari 250s (the 250 was a series of Ferraris produced between 1952 and 1964, including a number of versions: 250 GT Berlinetta, LM-Le Mans, GTO…)
- The Ferrari 375 MM competition model (including the one belonging to Jean Sage, ex-Renault F1 team manager)

- The 212 Inter, created in collaboration with Pininfarina
